Agape Love: Looking Back While Living Forward

Agape Love: Looking Back While Living Forward

It’s been a long road...

Some days are easier than others.
Some days feel like survival.
Other days threaten to steal the last traces of peace, of sanity—of life itself, past or future.
The darkness hovers, not just around you, but in you. Thoughts collapse under the weight. Reality distorts. Logic unravels.

And then, a still small voice whispers...

“Wait. Breathe... It’s okay, my love. Breathe and believe. Be still and know that I am God.”

Grasping for any flicker of light, any sense of clarity, any thread of reality that could stitch together something gentler than the pain now filling the depths of your soul.

Then comes the forbidding.

Why?

That one small word.
A question full of both hope and despair.
A slippery slope that dares to rise up in our throats, in our minds.
Why?

We want to know, we need to know—because maybe, if we could just understand, the pain might lose its grip.

But what if the answer isn’t what we expected?
What if the truth isn’t healing, but heavier?

Still, we ask.
Still, we long.
Still, we press forward, desperate to make sense of the senseless.

This aching desire to understand… it can feel like an infection—an emotional virus that spreads through our body and mind, waiting quietly to consume us.

What do we do with these raging thoughts that threaten to take our very breath, our sanity?

And once again, the voice returns...

“Breathe. This too shall pass.”

And then:

“Let’s go back, my love.
So we can find the way... to live forward.”

Back to the Beginning

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good...”
Genesis 1:1–4

When our thoughts feel formless, void, chaotic…
When we drift without gravity, spinning in the dark...
We can remember: There was a beginning.

There is always a beginning.

Just as God hovered over the deep in the beginning, He hovers now. Over you. Over your darkness. Over your formless thoughts and aching heart.

From nothing, He made everything.

From emptiness, He spoke light.

And the light was good.

We all need a first day.
And the truth is—we need a thousand of them. A thousand and more.
We need infinity begin-agains.

And thank God, we have them.

“His mercies are new every morning.”
Lamentations 3:23

That is the holy rhythm of agape love: an eternal reset. A divine invitation.
To breathe.
To rest.
To remember.

The Creator of the universe made you from love, and with love He longs for you to know Him—not as a far-off judge, but as the tender Author of the greatest love story of all time.

And this story?

It’s yours... if you dare to believe it.

There Is Light, Even Now

Wherever you are in life—whether floating, breaking, or simply trying to hold on—remember this:
There is light.
There is hope.
There is a beginning.

You were never meant to drift without purpose.
You were never made to remain formless and void.
You have a Creator who still breathes life, still whispers light, and still says:
“Let there be…”

So today, let Him say it over you again.

Let there be healing.
Let there be grace.
Let there be purpose.
Let there be you—alive, even in your pain.

Have grace for yourself, my love. So much grace.

And remember:

You are not alone.
You were never meant to walk alone.
There is hope—if you choose to believe.

We all need a first day.
And when the nights threaten to swallow us whole, let that be your anchor:

Breathe and remember the first day.
