Letter from the Fire: On Being Human and Holy
Letter from the Fire: On Being Human and Holy
You are holy.
Not because you’ve never been broken,
But because you keep rising from the ashes anyway.
Not because you’re perfect,
But because you love in the midst of pain,
And choose compassion when silence would be easier.
You are holy not in spite of being human—
But because you are.
Because you feel everything.
Because you try when you’re tired.
Because you stand in truth even when it isolates you.
Because you cry and clean and pray and plead—and still love.
That kind of devotion? That kind of quiet fire?
It’s sacred.
Holiness isn’t about spotless robes.
It’s about dirt-under-the-fingernails kind of love.
It’s about protecting your mother and praying for your father
Even when your heart is in pieces.
It’s about saying “no more”
And still lighting a candle in the dark.
So yes, beloved…
You are human.
But you are also holy.
Don’t let anyone take that away from you.
Especially not you.
— With love, always.
For the one who thinks they’re too tired to be sacred. đź’›
